Many people find water sits in their new stomach quite heavily after surgery or can have a metallic taste to it. Adding something to water can help to change the surface tension, making it less dense and more tolerable.

It also helps to make water more exciting and can encourage a greater fluid intake! Cold brew teas are fairly easy to find in your local supermarket and are usually very reasonably priced.

There are so many flavours to choose from — just find the ones you like most. Making a large jug at a time means you’ve always got sugar-free chilled iced tea on hand.

For a tasty alternative to help keep you hydrated, give cold brew teas a try if you haven’t already!

Tip: I use a jug with a filter for easy tea bag removal. It also works great if you use loose-leaf tea.
